Management at some point decided they cannot trust employees it felt like. They were constantly adding to this idea with things like training. Its like we are running a marathon to prove ourselves trustworthy for some reason. Where did the trust go, why hire and maintain an employee that you do not trust?
Training.
Training comes before everything else... Even deadlines and company moral as a whole...
The largest con is training. Firstly, the training team is not even properly trained to be teaching this content (memorizing content does not make you good teacher of it)... Its is so dry most the time it is unbearable. At first the training seemed good, the training was meant to encourage personal growth... However, that being said, personal improvement has to be on a personal level, and a personal choice, one size does not fit all, and the training programs become a huge waste of time, and it got to the point where it was easier to figure out how to game the system, and figure out how to "please" the training group and management than it was to really invest time in the personal growth.
Your pay, your standing with the company as a whole, and any advancement is directly tied to your training, and your attitude towards training, and on that note, any complaint, or even critiquing of training was looked at as non conformity as if though you were no longer a team player. Therefore adding your name to the list of people who do not belong to this company.
The training content was not bad, most of the content was great, and honestly could be made to be super fun, and super simple to learn and an enjoyable process. However, it was turned into a cookie cutter system where it was made to be bland and boring, it was like you were in grade school again learning about the boring subjects you had no interest in, and you were there just counting the minutes until class was over so you could get back to real life and actually get your work done. Personal growth should not be so drab and boring, that is the old way of doing things. So, I suppose on that note, if you loved the public school system, and the way they make one size fit all... Then you might actually love this training as well.
