Pros
* Was a great opportunity for me to get individual responsibility/ownership and learn a lot, especially for an early job out of school * Company is undergoing rapid growth, if you can find the right team/manager/opportunity, you can excel, learn and grow a career much faster than you could elsewhere * Lots of cool problems to work on, building some cool tech and capabilities * Great people, fun, young culture * Good work-life balance
Cons
* All of the pros/cons vary greatly across and even within teams * Serious growing pains - redundant work/projects, inter-team communication is slow and cumbersome, much harder to access the "pros", culture is becoming more risk-averse, frequently shifting priorities, etc. * Young company lacks development infrastructure, many managers are either recently promoted and inexperienced or external hires without knowledge of internal dynamics * Compensation varies a lot and is slow to update to market standards, especially for employees who started earlier
