Pros

-When I joined a few years ago, WeWork still had that wonderful "grow, build, test" atmosphere where innovation, passion, and "make it work excitement" ruled. -There are pockets of lovely people working in NYC and SF

Cons

-Inept HR department with zero strategy, consistency, or empathy for employees (not that this is really anything new for an HR department) -Inconsistent performance improvement plans (PIPs) that are not based on performance but rather used as an excuse to fire employees who are critical anything at the company. -Brutally insensitive "walk out" layoffs and terminations. They call these "Mission Achieved 20" e.g. 20% reduction in staff. -A culture of yes people only -- if you complain or raise concerns, you will be fired or marginalized. -Chaotic, whiplash, and no vision from leadership -A COO / Head of HR with no HR experience or empathy (she admits this openly to employees) -Diversity "lip service" only, no real strategy or meaningful investment in it. Employees scream for it, leadership ignores. -A CEO who celebrates burnout culture and pushes an overtly religious cult environment. -A product (the office spaces themselves) that doesn't work well. Shoddy construction, horrible internal IT and video conference systems, lack of water for people to drink, inconsistent quality of staff. Walk into a Google, Facebook and Uber office and they're 10x better built and designed than a WeWork -- the supposed "office of the future" -Terrible comp: no bonus, no stock refreshers, comp not tied to performance. -Inexperienced managers and directors -Embarrassing internal communications -Toxic and bro culture

Pros

1. Yes, it's a startup culture & Long working hours but that's what you expect in such organizations which grow exponentially. 2. But the best part is that there is still a huge emphasis on culture & values which I think is where many start-ups lose it in the name of growth. very impressed how WeWork holds its values so high or at least tries too. 3. The pay offered to young employees is definitely above the market benchmark, I doubt any other Hospitality, design or construction company pays as much as WeWork for the same amount of experience. 4. You get to interact with people across 25+ countries who share the same vision 5. You have unlimited physical access to 600+ locations in some of the best cities in the world. 6. You get to travel abroad at least once or twice a year 7. WeWork has an amazing referral programme which enables you to earn more if you are willing to do so 8. The leadership is young and yes it comes with its own problems, but it makes the culture informal and fast-paced in terms of decision making. The decisions may not be always correct but I think at this stage of the business the priority is quick decision making & then learning from mistakes while we can afford it. 9. WeWork India is a separate entity to the global WeWork.com, which is in fact a blessing in disguise as you have amazing flexibility & scope to get things done locally & innovatively than just following what the global does. This gives you huge exposure & experience.

Cons

1. Better planning required at the top management & more thoughtful decision-making in terms of Growth, Cashflows & Hiring 2. People at the same levels have huge deviation wrt the Salary (As high as 100% sometimes), the ideal deviation should not be more than +_ 25% for the people in the same level across functions. 3. Please don't mistake when I say about 100% Salary deviation as this is more of an effect of a person's previous Job & urgency of the Job Opening. Most are offered a very good hike from their previous Jobs but its only fair to have a proper bandwidth for each role. 4. Sometimes it can get really hard to maintain Worklife balance when you have deadlines.
