A toss up

Pros

Excellent people, good benefits, free food/coffee, cool work events, good locations, salaries are pretty much matched with the rest of the New York. Many opportunities to learn and fast. New PTO policy is generous

Cons

Lack of transparency, unstable, some difficult managers. Lack of diversity in the C-Suite, job not always as described during interview. Do not come here if you are looking for a stable 9-5 job that will most definitely be there in a few years. This company is meant for those that are willing to be extremely flexible with what hours they work and what their job duties actually are.

Pros

Overall people are generally happy and the work is challenging. The cultural is laid-back and the offices are beautiful. The unit economic looks bright as 90% of the buildings are profitable. This can be a very profitable business in the long run. WeWork has a brand new leadership team and they seems to be capable of turning the ship around to write an amaizing comeback story.

Cons

Leadership team was pretty immature and I am glad they are all gone. The mass layoff was painful but necessary as the spending went out of control under Adam and his close friends. Media had been unfair at times and only covered the negatives.

Bit of a mess

Pros

A) Great people - Smart, ambitious, friendly. B) Interesting business model. C) TBD Unfortunately, many pros (work flexibility, benefits, etc.) are currently TBD during restructuring.

Cons

A) organizationally very immature. B) Still figuring out basic stuff like resource tracking and billing. C) Many middle and upper managers Are inexperienced both as managers and in the business. D) Lack of transparency. E) Constant, seemingly non-strategic change. I know this is typical for startups, but here it feels ad hoc and short sighted. The new leadership does seem to be working on it.
