Terrible pay 35 hours is the highest contracted hours and pay is 20p above national living wage, universal credit has to top up my pay as I’m on so little and they do not even pay London living wage considering it’s central, it’s disgusting and disappointing.
There’s not much growth to head office roles and a limited route for progression and there is no incentive to progress either ( management pay isn’t anything desirable either considering the work load and responsibilities) there’s no incentives for the employees no commission no rewards for hitting targets, expectations are high and pay does not reflect this either. It can be very stressful and head office put a lot of pressure onto the store and no rewards are given for succeeding and performing to their expectations. Chaotic and unpredictable work schedules and often last minute changes that makes it difficult for a work/ life balance. ( starting early at 6:30 and a close to 10pm) no patterns and can be very tolling. Can be a very anxious working environment depending on feedback from higher management and head office and other situations that arise ( shop lifting etc) clothing is terrible quality and not much is promoted within the sustainability sector either.
