Pros

I was never under 30 hours a week on the schedule, same for all competent coworkers. Employer provided plenty of opportunities to expand into other departments due to unreliable employees. Great opportunity to get experience dealing with cash, customers, managing your own time (outside of cashier positions) and generally fill out a resume for a future job.

Cons

Short limit on growth. The employer is more of a stepping stone than a destination. Customers can be rude.

Pros

90% of co-workers and customer are pretty friendly and nice.

Cons

I keep trying to write this all out, but bottom-line is: Don't Work Here. Unless you're "A Chosen One", you can be a good, even great employee and still made to feel like crap. So if you can get into the in crowd, go for it; otherwise just work somewhere else like the other 95% of the store that leaves eventually.
