Pros
They prefer to promote from within so if you just work marginally hard and show an interest in learning more about your department there is a good chance you will be promoted.
Cons
Promotions usually come at the cost of moving to a new store which may adversely affect your commute. If business is slow expert your hours to be cut, no o/t, have to work a long time before you get a decent amount of paid vacation.
