Pros

I worked with a great group, which made every day worthwhile. My managers were very flexible with my schedule, which was terrific since I was balancing a full-time class schedule as a student, and when I was searching for another job after I graduated.

Cons

Very low salary, with a grand total of one 15 cent raise during my two years, even as my responsibilities increased from gas attendant to cashier to front end monitor. Lots of corporate policies that are well-meaning, but tend to over-complicate things in practice. My store managers were mostly terrific, however corporate management had a culture of fear which trickled down to all of us. VERY high turnover rate.

Pros

Weis markets has very good training programs set in place, and they seem to try and stay up to date on all their training, in addition by making it mandatory that everyone participate. They work with everyone's busy life schedules usually with no issues. As far as personnel growth goes the opportunity is there if some one wants to take advantage of it.

Cons

As far as this section is concerned, I believe the only thing Weis markets really needs to consider working on is their pay scale, when someone is willing to work there and by giving their 100%, you then have a valuable asset, and by not taking advantage of that asset and doing what it takes to keep them there is a huge mistake on the employer, especially if that employee is a family man trying to support his family, and being supportive of family values, as well as the companies values. Furthermore I think that settling for second rate employees because that is the best they can do, but letting the best slip away, well that is just a poor excuse.
