Pros

Finishing your shift and leaving, then again being treated with some respect. Going home and realizing that "YES",after leaving the Place I'm not a nobody.

Cons

Very high turn-over,Pathetic Management,Terrible HR,No hours, employees who don't do their job.Disrespectful Management,No raises-except for state increase of minimum wages, continuous inconsistent all over the week scheduling. No need to feel bad or worthless of ones self-worth, this company does a excellent job for you. If you think little of your abilities, and want never to get ahead, like very few hours(not enough to live on),and be treated like your a mindless idiot-this company is for you. However, if one needs (A job), and some (pocket change) literally,High School hours and wages,No financial obligations of any kind, and, you live in a Cardboard Box under the local town Bridge-work for Weis.

Advancement for former A&P employees only

Pros

It's a food store-food is fun. Enough nice employees that you can build a sense of belonging if you choose to. They do bring in some high quality products from Pennsylvania. They could do a lot more though.

Cons

Very few opportunities to advance unless you want to drive 50 miles for less than a living wage. They prefer bringing in ex-A&P employees rather than promoting within. There are no perks, and all the limited full-time positions they allow were filled 20 years ago by people with very few skills. There is a 10% discount, but since it doesn't extend to whole and healthy foods, it is worthless. Same problems occur over and over again, year after year, and no effort is made to create systematic changes so that the problems occur less and/or are solved more quickly. They do not collect feedback from employees - instead of making comprehensive, well thought out approaches, they haphazardly change what they want stores to do, often resulting in doing the same work over and over again. Meetings are not managed well and result in no changes, no improvement. They do not recognize their hard-working employees. If you work hard all you will get is managers and supervisors dumping more of their own work on you. They are starting to fall behind with providing healthy alternatives to the factory food that people are sick of eating. The non-gmo and organic foods are lost within the aisles and it is too hard to find them.

Pros

Good job security, friendly coworkers, great first job, work/life balance good

Cons

Management needs to treat lower employees with more respect, pay usually starts at minimum wage, open holidays therefore you may need to work, customers are less than intelligent and tend to belittle you
