* Surface Values vs. Deep-rooted Culture: While there are genuine, talented individuals at this company, their voices and impact seemed dwarfed by those in power who exude a semblance of friendliness but, in reality, can be scarily political. I found it a place where kind-hearted, well-meaning employees are rendered powerless. * Disingenuous Advocacy and Undeserved Protections: For a company that markets itself on gender inclusivity and wokeness, I think their practices are hypocritical. I was blindsided by their sexist remarks and behavior and I feel that despite them trying to hire diverse candidates, deep inside, the few select in power have deep seated belief that the only people that can be succesful are a mini version of them. Additionally, I found that some of the support staff is not only mediocre and unwilling to help, but also alarmingly entitled. It's a sad reality that as long as they have ties to Boston, they seem to be shielded from any consequences, further skewing the company's idea of meritocracy. * A Threat to Mental Well-being: My tenure at this company profoundly affected my mental health. I am disappointed in myself for trusting them and not getting a more accurate feel for them in the 40 interviews, but I will never forget the valuable lessons: the more effort someone puts in showcasting their culture as equal, the less it probably is.
