Pros

When your equipment is running good, and you are assigned a dedicated route you can make a living......BUT.....

Cons

Astonishing lack of urgency to repair equipment. Strands drivers for days at a time essentially stealing their time ($20 per day breakdown will feed you and that's about it, it doesn't feed your family or pay any bills) Indirectly penalizes drivers for doing the right thing which increases the number of CSA violations Werner and their drivers incur and also increases the danger to the general motoring public.

Pros

Werner is making great strides at being a more DEI focused company. If you have the drive to work long hours, and eventually move to Omaha you can really advance within the organization.

Cons

At Werner you are expected to work 10-12 hour days/5x a week, and if you are in a managerial role. Oh but if your in a managerial role, your weekend is half occupied dealing with work issues. You can never really be fully detached from the office - holidays, vacations, etc. This is partially due to the off hours teams in HQ are worthless, but also Werner would rather run a skeleton crew at all times. The best part is the pay is crap, and the extra hours you work will be go unnoticed.

Pros

This is a good company to start with once you graduate from driving school, but’s that’s really about it. The pay was very low. I was below 40 cents solo and the highest my team driver and I made was about 54 cents (27 cents per mile split). Do your time with werner and move on.

Cons

Low pay. Loads will get cancelled and you won’t get paid. They’ll find a reason not to pay you even if they say you’ll be paid. Make sure you put everything in writing to them. My teammates and I were promised guaranteed base pay but they only paid it out when they felt like it.
