WesBanco - Where "We're a Family Here" is Actually Nepotism at its Finest

Pros

Good Benefits. Decent PTO once you're established there. Wonderful people to work with.

Cons

Don't be fooled by the facade of "we're a family." Favoritism and nepotism are at the core of what once was a great place to work. HR is a joke. The good work that some people put in is overshadowed by corporate bureaucracy. They no longer care about the employees like they once did. The pay was never great, but the previous culture made the job worth it. Now you have low pay and a toxic culture. You've been warned.

Highly dependent on branch location. Regional management was a miss.

Pros

I had worked at two different locations (not including my "float" days). I can say with confidence that your time at this company is HIGHLY dependent on the others working at your branch. The culture from regional management is not great, so toxicity is free to fester at certain locations. I'll say a positive was the flexible work schedule -- full-time employees often got half a day or a day during the week off, though sometimes working on Saturday until noon or so is required.

Cons

A lot of unpaid time working -- there was recently a class action lawsuit about it that they settled, so unclear if they still do it. They also refused to pay me out on a lot of referrals, especially after I put in my notice. Also, if you're a woman, they do not protect from harassment from rich customers. Ask me how I know.

Good benefits, health insurance mainly

Cons

Was sexually harassed and HR/ management downplayed the situation and kept me in the same branch as my aggressor when was trying to relocate. Also have most blamed shifted towards the tellers and ones working on the retail side.
