Benefits, autonomy and flexibility (especially if you have a PhD), decent salary.

Cons

Poor management, poor infrastructure, poor professional developmenet (non-existent), poor mentoring (depends on the division), siloed, internal competition, favoritism, low morale, lack of vision, management seems to value money over mission
