Pros
Not being in an office has some benefits particularly in avoiding manager hovering or continuous micromanagement. There is a sense of independence being out in the field and calling the shots.
Cons
I worked under someone who had terrible people skills which caused many to quit in order to retain their self esteem She pressured, bullied, and accused employees and then fired those who she could not dominate. Granted, many deserved being let go and a trial by fire ordeal eliminated the weakest. The remaining workers were forced to drive too many miles because of this attrition. We continuously had to deal with a belligerent respondents as well. Then there is the added danger of the highway - saw many dangerous flaming wrecks and had some close calls.
