not a bad place to work, just quite old school.

Pros

Good people, the culture is not to ruthless. Staff are for the most part nice to each other which is good.

Cons

no WFH, need to move with the times a bit as a business. I get coming in generally, and don't believe in 100% WFH in most cases but 1 day a week at least would help retain staff I think as it is out there elsewhere. They could invest in there software to make it better. Very much depends on your role and account base but some targets can be tough to hit, you may get lucky though, it just depends on your customers.

Thanks for your feedback. We believe in working from the office as it gives our customers, our partners and our people a better service. I appreciate that some people would prefer to work from home at some point - but when I show new/prospective vendors round, without exception they all say what a differentiator it is to have sales staff in and how beneficial it is to them to train and motivate Westcoast to sell their products. Not old school - but, in today's climate, new school perhaps!

Pros

Westcoast is company that will give you the freedom to do your best work and make an impact. They provide a collaborative environment which nurtures talent. Westcoast will never deny and employee the opportunity to learn and develop.

Cons

The Theale office is overcrowded and messy. It quite obvious that the office space needs a rethink and refurb, the business really lets it self down by failing to provide its employees with a nice place to work. I think this is extremely overlooked. Thats said.. It works. Have a think about how you integrate new starters, ensure they are equipped with the resources and information they need to succeed. Think about creating clear paths of progression and uncapped commission schemes otherwise talent will not be retained.

Your positive points are absolutely on the money - the industry in which we work encourages such thinking and Westcoast embrace the opportunity develop all of our team. Your points about the office are sad given the recent injection of money in new collaboration pods, improved layout, sustainability bins - however, we will ensure it gets a clean up. You are right though it does form an environment that delivers for customers and people encouraging collaboration everywhere. Its fun too!
