Pros

Great benefits with some nice people to work with

Cons

WPH is a terrible place to work. The turnover is high with no flexibility in work life balance especially during snow days and holidays. Management have old school mentality in managing their resources and at times forget anything they tell you one day and change their mind the next. This is not a good place to work with the amount of fake reviews by HR they need more people to apply and have you think WPH is a reputable hospital when it’s not.

Pros

very young staff for the most part, nice looking and up-2-date structure, new add on and equipment, new grads welcomed, 12hr shifts standard, good starter hospital for new grads, ASN welcomed

Cons

no union for RN, new grads stay for about a year then leave for a better paying job, some units can be unesscary stressful than others because of management issues, random things being added to your job title, food cafe was just recently added and is expensive with employee discount, bring your own food. Avg new nurse makes 2k every two week. Get your experienece and get out my advice. NO 401k, just a 403b which the hospital doesnt contribute to.

Pros

Your coworkers are mostly amazing. No union. No union fees. Pays well

Cons

Management is utterly incompetent. ALL of The nurse managers couldn’t start an IV…. Short staffed, & overworked. 1:20 pt nurse ratio (I had 33pts a few times) The hours are not flexible. They don’t move you from nights & days unless they like you. High employee turnover Poor employee retention Parking is horrible for staff Dangerous waiting room as violence may occur. The ED techs mostly are lazy & incompetent, so get used to doing everything yourself anyway.
