      As an Engineer here at the downtown (Manhattan) Whitney Museum, this is a great place to work for, if not, the best.

      Pros

      You can learn a lot by working here. This is a LEED certified facility and it is a IUOE position with a good pay scale. A lot of people here are friendly. If you do your job in keeping this museum operating from checking your rounds and doing the PM's when you suppose too, you should have no problems working here as an Engineer.

      Cons

      You have to help the Art Curators with setting up the lighting for the Galleries which can be a real pain, since you will have to spent a lot of time with them instead of actually running the building. Also, overtime is there, but beware, it isn't always going to be giving to you time to time.

      Learned so much, everyone was approachable, was able to ask questions, gained insight and access, was encouraged in my own work, influenced my future career choices, amazing people!

      No cons except living in NYC can be hard for a Midwesterner.
