Pros

Great if you need steady employment (as steady as being in publishing is these days) and do not wish to or need to grow your career in any way. It's the only publishing company I've heard of that gives a yearly bonus to everyone in a department, depending on they collectively did. Hours are great, benefits are fine, and PTO is stellar.

Cons

Talks a big talk about "innovation" but generally fails to put words into action. No career growth unless people above you leave, only opportunity for growth is management, which are roles they will not create more of. Nobody under the age of 50 should work there because your skills will likely atrophy from lack of use.

Thanks for the review and the honest feedback. Sorry to hear that you think there isn't a lot of opportunity for career growth! We've been working on a new program to highlight and communicate career opportunities within Wiley that should launch soon - hopefully that program and similar efforts will help shine a spotlight on some of the things you mention.

Pros

Hoboken location is extremely nice. The people are extremely friendly and motivated.

Cons

The pay is way below market value. The company has a tough time keeping talent. Lots of politics that cause the real heavy lifters to be overshadowed and Wiley's progress to slow down.

You're right that people throughout Wiley are amazing! It's one of the greatest things about the company. Creating an environment where current employees feel valued while also attracting the next generation of coworkers is vital to the ongoing health of a company. Thanks for the feedback!
