Cons
Limited career growth: Many employees have spent their entire careers here, resulting in siloed thinking and a lack of innovation. Development opportunities are scarce, and in hindsight, this role set back my career progression. Declining industry: The business remains reliant on shrinking markets. Digital and AI efforts lack traction. Frequent retrenchments, hiring/travel freezes, and now salary increment freezes reflect deeper issues. Unrealistic sales targets persist despite consistently missed goals which makes no sense. Weak leadership: Global leaders avoid addressing critical concerns, while local leadership lacks competency and strategic clarity. Meetings often feel like interrogations, and can feel manipulative. High attrition and low morale are the result, yet accountability is absent.
