Pros

My colleagues, for the most part, were smart and committed. Prior to the announcement, and very slow rollout, of the reorganization the work was interesting and motivating.

Cons

The reorg has been a major disaster. The majority of people let go were.lower level mgmt or non-mgmt. At the higher levels everyone was just shuffled to a new job, in some cases where they had no experience. Almost two years after reorg annoncement things are still not settled, and its still unclear to most colleagues how this has been a valuable excercise for the company or its employees.

Pros

Great people can still be found, a legacy of what once was. If you have a passion for publishing and are interested in an evolving industry, you'll find it all here.

Cons

The realignment of the organization has resulted in disgruntled, unhappy, workers unsure of what's next. Business as usual only works for those who have career stability. Hard workers are not valued nor distinguished. Only the top-tier old boys club are recognized for a job well done. Everyone else just gets the same 2% increase year after year and you're told to be grateful you still have a job. Systems are old and cumbersome. Change is slow and regular layoffs abound.

Pros

- Supportive colleagues who are doing their best in a business environment that lacks resources, clear direction, and a sustainable model. - Generous PTO policy (unlimited), though you may face criticism for taking time off if it's perceived that you are "behind" on work.

Cons

- A toxic workplace culture driven by excessive micromanagement, constant criticism, and unprofessional behavior from management. - Frequent, unproductive meetings. - Shifting goals and frequent leadership turnover, leading to rapid departure of top talent. - Outsourcing to third-party vendors with inconsistent quality and lack of expertise. - Ineffective HR and legal teams that fail to support employees properly. - Employees are stretched thin and unable to focus on meaningful work.
