Pros

The time off was good.

Cons

I had been with Wiley for over ten years, my job responsibility tripled and then I was kicked to the curb! They told us they had squeezed everything the could out of us! No longer an American "Family" company! Not a transparent company!

Great publisher shame about the salaries

Pros

Big company easy to stay anonymous, generous holiday allowances

Cons

Appallingly low salaries, especially given the location of both offices. If you aren't in sales you are basically overlooked, as of course they are the only people that do anything to make the companies run. Unfortunately, while publishing is an industry many people aspire to break into, it's not the most generous when it comes to salaries and often you do end up doing far more than your job description ever leads you to believe you will, especially when you work for an organisation like this that prefers to save money on support staff.

Pros

Good work-life balance, rare chance of OT. People are genuine and friendly. Benefits and bonuses are decent.

Cons

Don't fall into the easy trap of entitlement (it's comfortable here but don't lose sight of the need to stay relevant). Pace is much slower, though transformation is underway.
