Pros

The benefits and work-life balance are great, and I think people really buy into the company values and mission. Managing the transition from print to digital hasn't been easy, and change is slow, but the last year or two things seem to be improving.

Cons

When you aren't in a role with a clearly defined career path, your opportunities for advancement will be limited. Some divisions make advancement harder than others. And when you do get a promotion, there is a cap on the % increase you can receive--it's a shame that there's basically a penalty for wanting to stay and move up within the company.

Still some good people around trying to do a good job, and that care about the company.

Constant changes, lack of vision, poor leadership.

Good work/life balance, but unstable company

Pros

Great work/life balance - 35 hour work week, lots of PTO. Great colleagues . Company has lots of good people and great friendships have developed over the years. Global company allows the opportunity to work with great colleagues worldwide.

Cons

Unstable company. Reorg after reorg for the past couple years and the next one is probably right around the corner. When someone is fired or leaves the company, we aren't able to hire and replace those colleagues. Low pay for the amount of work everyone has to do because of all of the reorgs/layoffs. Senior management says they have a plan for the future but are terrible at communicating a clear message and continually flip flop about the business strategy and goals. The company has silo upon silo and there are business groups that are the favorites to management. Those are the groups that get the most resources (pay, bonuses, team members, recognition of work).
