Horrible Culture

Pros

For a while, there were some great people. Mostly they are gone now.

Cons

The culture here is horrible. Management is backstabbing and belittling. This is a good place to work if you want to feel bad about yourself and your job.

One star after eight years is rough! Please know that ethical behavior, including the demonstration of respect for one another, is at the foundation of the Wiley culture. I'm sorry to hear your time at Wiley wasn't enjoyable.

Avoid, company going downhill fast!

Pros

Nothing. They will just constantly move people around and promise the world but not deliver.

Cons

The company just recently decided to sell half of their business units and are not doing well. Even people that were not in these particular departments are being laid off with no explanations other than "consolidation" when just a week before we were told that specific business units were "holding their own". Wiley supposedly prides itself on supporting their employees. In my multiple years of working there I was never supported or provided what I was supposed to have been and then when it comes to bonus and merit increase time, we were only given a small percentage of what was promised earlier in the year and what market guidelines are. No opportunities for advancement or positions to better align with someone's career goals or past experience. Pathetic excuse for executive leadership and I would not recommend this company to anyone job hunting.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your experience working at Wiley. We appreciate feedback both in terms of positive aspects and areas where we can improve. We respect your concerns and take this type of feedback seriously. We understand that change can be challenging, and we acknowledge that it may have caused uncertainty and frustration among employees, even those not directly impacted. Our CEO recently shared that we are focused on simplifying our organization and that we will lean into our strength as a global "Knowledge Company". This simplification unfortunately requires tough business decisions. When it’s necessary to make these tough decisions, we keep colleague care as our priority and strive to be transparent with our employees. Regarding your compensation feedback, we are committed to delivering competitive, equitable pay to help attract and retain top talent. We are proud of our forward-leaning approach to pay transparency to help us close existing pay gaps and to help colleagues champion their careers. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We appreciate your contribution and wish you the best in your future endeavors. - Global Talent Acquisition

Company that has lost its way...

Pros

Wiley family. There are lots of good people here, but those are dwindling. Good benefits, but getting worse by the year.

Cons

Culture of layoffs, not opportunity as it once was. No career conversations happen. It's just get the annual review paperwork done. Weak leadership. They have gutted organizations to the point that work will not get done to the detriment of customers and staff who rely on this work. Poor communication-->people or groups of people come and go and you find out this kind of information accidentally. All about money...recent T&E policy reflects growing gap between executive team and rest of organization. Technology is grim. And if you love a place where you go through 2 or more Dell laptops per year. If you like an environment with no heart or soul, this is the company for you!
