Pros

Honestly, there are too many PROs to name. William Blair really makes you feel like you're part of the family/team. No matter what position you hold here, others treat you with respect and appreciate what you do for the company. I have yet to be put in an uncomfortable situation of any kind. It is a very open and fair environment that welcomes the ideas and opinions of others. The employee appreciation throughout the firm is the best I've seen. Food, apparel, and firm parties for events/holidays all spare no expense. This is because William Blair has seen so much success, even through rough economic times. I highly recommend this company.

Cons

Haven't encountered a CON yet. I've been here a short time so far, but I don't see any issues in my future as of right now.

Pros

Business decisions are driven by what's best for the clients. 100% employee owned. Good benefits, bonuses, profit sharing. Some of yhe best, brightest, most creative and kind people in the industry.

Cons

Management can be slow to make changes, for better or worse. Challenging to switch roles, as WB likes to hire people with direct experience; can discourage employees in "dead-end" roles.

Pros

Stable partnership populated by a conservative and organic approach to growth that focuses on hiring smart people for who know their business and are efficient at collaborating at a fast-pace. In return, you can expect a cordial environment, great compensation, a manageable lifestyle, and a very stable futurel. Great mutual funds business that is successful in a mix of strategies and clients and very rational, transparent, and performance-oriented..

Cons

There is no belief in cross-functional knowledge transfer. Spans of control are deepened by years of service, and it is system of "go-to individuals." and sometimes, fiefdoms. Due to being a partnership, the ship is very tightly run and there is no respite from all hands at all times. Management underspends on infrastructure and is slow to adopt and develop cutting-edge operational practices, equipment, and people.
