Work here only if you plan to make quick cash or to retire here

Pros

-Health benefits: they're nice and cheap. It's covered if you work a certain number of hours. -ESOP: employee stock. It's nice if you stick around the company long enough. Short term is not worth it. -Scheduling flexibility: 24 hour store. Lots of random shifts to be assigned. -Pay Raise based on time: you get a raise based on how much you work. It will take a few years to reach the last raise. But, the last raise is a nice jump. Again, only useful if you plan to stay long term.

Cons

-Micromanagement with no help whatsoever: they will decide every little decision and task, but won't help you when it inconveniences them. Like, if a customer was yelling at you, management automatically make you the bad person. They will side with the customer and even discipline you. -Lack of help: people standing around, mainly the grocery clerks, just standing around and laughing and making fun of others (customers and employees). Customer service area will have lots of them standing around WITH management. -24 hour store: it's 24 hours, expect terrible scheduling (if you don't have an availability) - work until 11pm one night, come back tomorrow morning at 9am.

Pros

A few nice co-workers. Fake encouragement

Cons

Only get your food here. or somewhere else honestly. BUT NEVER WORK HERE. They will let people go without warning. My boyfriend was a cart clerk and he was told that he was the best, that he was doing great, and that they are lucky to have him. But one day they told him LP needed to speak with him. (Loss Prevention) And no its not what you're thinking it wasn't because of stealing. LP suspended him because they needed to "investigate him" for what you ask? SWEEPING. We thought this was a joke or perhaps a warning to do a better job at sweeping. He was honest with them and told him he is too busy to sweep every 30 minutes because he's outside sweating away getting carts for everyone. They told him that was a good answer and to call them next week to see the status of the investigation. But guess what. They FIRED him because of sweeping. SWEEPING. I understand you want to keep your store clean but to fire someone and ruin their monetary stability just because of sweeping. To add more to this absurdity, this was his first and ONLY offense. He was never late for work, he was only absent once and never got a "point" for winco foods point system. This is ridiculous. Oh also to state how "serious sweeping" is they fired the other 2 cart clerks as well for it. 3 cart clerks were fired due to sweeping. Did anyone get hurt? are they sweeping clerks? LMAO Not ONCE did any of the management get off their high horse and tell the cart clerks their dislike with the sweeping. Not ONE ever told them anything. And apparently he was still on probation? how long is their probation period? Half a year? He's been there since February and Fired at the end of August. Now I'm assuming they only needed them for summer but this wasn't a seasonal position. To show further how horrible the management at Winco is; They told my boyfriend that there is a program he can go to and try to get his job back. LIKE REALLY? YOU"RE TELLING HIM TO TRY TO GET HIS JOB BACK? Then why fire him in the first place?? I've read many reviews that the management is non existent at Winco Foods and now I see it. Winco Foods "Employee Owned." If you're so for the employees why make them unemployed without warning? I've managed stores before and I'm astounded with how they dealt with this. To all the eureka people seeing all the new job postings for Winco just don't. Their fake af and will let you go while telling you're the best.

Pros

Opportunities for business travel (loved helping with store openings and training new employees), Camaraderie with other hourly employees but mostly to complain about unfair management, Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance as well as stock ownership and retirement, Pretty flexible schedule if you need (unpaid) time off, I felt that corporate or regional employees were always friendly and able to recognize potential and offer opportunities that store management did not

Cons

My complaints are regarding my particular store and how it was run; the corporate office and regional staff were much more supportive and helpful. LOTS of complaints about management from employees, Felt taken advantage of and underappreciated - had to pick up slack from lazy employees but would be asked to do more since that made me more capable, Opportunities for advancement are only available for favorable employees who were close with management, Low pay
