Pros

At Winco foods everyone seems more like a family instead of co-workers. Enjoy the fast paced work environment while working as a team.

Cons

The deli/seafood department can get very busy and sometimes there is not enough staff to help with the customer demand so it can feel very stressful. Management seems to always be hounding employees to get things done even though it is very clear that the store is really busy yet they still expect 100% on everything.

Pros

Company has good health insurance benefits.

Cons

Managment has a tendancy to overwork you. Employees are seen as expendable. No employee discounts.

Pros

All the tasks of the regular employee are very simple, no matter what department (produce, deli, meat, cart clerk, etc.. I've worked in multiple departments in various WinCo Foods stores in my region). However, you have the flexibility to go the extra the mile and ween away from just simple tasks and learn more advanced operations (sign ordering/printing, forklift driving, order writing, etc.). Truly is a place where the work you do is greatly appreciated by your manager, so you can move up in hours and position by doing a great job. Also, you own a bit of the company through stock ownership, so it's like an extra retirement plan. Decent insurance for the price (dental checkups/cleanings are 100% covered). Co-workers can be relatable, they I think they complain too much. Pay increases every 1000 or so hours, so you have guaranteed raises. Flexible working hours - manager can work things out with you.

Cons

Lower quality customers (will eat the produce right in front of you, will litter, may act rudely towards you (mainly in the deli and cashiering departments), etc.) WinCo runs their employees thin sometimes, not enough employees. WinCo no longer feels as employee owned as it used to be, corporate does not consult their department heads for suggestions, they do what they want now. Not enough pay for what the managers have to put up with. WinCo's newest policy goes to easy on employees that need discipline.
