Pros

You have to type a certain number of words in this section.... So... All I will say is that there aren't too many.

Cons

You want to work at WinMagic? Well here's a few things you should know before signing on. 1. If you're not in sales or product, look somewhere else. Don't even bother wasting your time. 2. If you ignore point 1, then be prepared to move at any time. There is no corporate loyalty here at all. Everyone is simply a line item on the budget and completely expendable in order for the company to save a buck. So good luck. 3. Be okay with no corporate culture at all. Zip. Nil. Nada. No company events (except a Christmas party that might happen on alternate years). 4. There is no top down leadership at all, so as a consequence there are no goals to achieve or pillars to strive for. In one word you can describe the work environment here as chaotic. Read other reviews here to understand more about what it's like to work at this company. The majority of them are accurate.

Good work-life balance | Limited growth potential

Pros

The company does provide a good work environment and a solid work-life balance. Not a "startup culture" by any means, but a decent workplace with genuinely good people.

Cons

Leadership focuses too much on "vision" and not enough on execution. If you want to work with an innovative or high-growth company, this is not the place. If you're looking for a slower pace and a learning environment, it's a better fit.

Nepotism and favouritism at it's worst

Pros

There is a good product here, there are people who really want to make things happen.

Cons

So many people are in the CEO's family or close friends. There are also favourites that get promoted for no reason. The majority of them are useless. The CEO seems to be a smart man, but he is also dumb: he is too smart to see how dumb he is. He is a bully who thinks the best way to lead is to have your people afraid of you so that they try hard to please him. If you do not understand, you are stupid and put down by the CEO. He thinks he is the only one that knows anything. The company has been successful in spite of itself, really. Founded in 1997 this company should be at least 3x the size it is now, but despite saying that he wants to grow the company, he has continually ignored the advice on how to do so. This goes back to the narcissistic tendencies of the CEO: if he did not think of it the idea sucks. That is not leadership. Combining this with the above sociopathic nature of being a bully, does not make a great work environment.
