Pros

Great people. Competitive pay. Lower rates so more attracitve to in house counsel. Pull very smart lawyers from bigger firms and offer same service and value at a lower rate- Very smart! Benefits are good- Employee matched 401K up to 6%.

Cons

Bi annual reviews were too much! Management keeps close track of how everyone is doing.

Pros

People are generally quite nice. Benefits are good. Good training and business development opportunities/sponsoring.

Cons

Not much loyalty. Odd hiring practices have led to a slightly "different" culture that other law firms. Departments tend to be silo'd and a lot of looking out for #1 overall. LOTS of folks leaving the firm, which is not necessarily unique to Winstead these days, but isn't a positive either.
