Pros

Decent benefits and reimbursement for DART.

Cons

From day one, I never felt like my job was secure. And it wasn't. My particular attorney threw me under the bus and lied to me on several occasions. (Yes, I caught him.) Winstead has a toxic working environment which is well known. While I was working at Munsch Hardt a former Winstead employee told me of her experiences of working at Winstead (she had worked there for 10 years before joining Munsch) so I was somewhat apprehensive joining the firm. Turned out she was right. HR does not back-up its employees. Training is minimal to non-existent. Cliques abound. Your talents are never recognized.

Pros

Great people. Competitive pay. Lower rates so more attracitve to in house counsel. Pull very smart lawyers from bigger firms and offer same service and value at a lower rate- Very smart! Benefits are good- Employee matched 401K up to 6%.

Cons

Bi annual reviews were too much! Management keeps close track of how everyone is doing.
