The engineering staff has the most experience building website, not software applications. From the software application perspective, the team lacks experience, yet they hold senior positions. The team is often slow to adapt to newer technologies that would better fit the workloads. In general, the team lacks a lot of experience supporting workloads in modern environments. Lack of experience with modern technology is a theme on the team. Along with the generally low salaries and the slowness (sometimes aversion) to adapt is quite frustrating for anyone with experience. It seemed to me that some of the managers were less concerned about the product quality they were building and more concerned about maintaining a warm relationship with the CEO. If you're experienced in building e-commerce sites but want to move into software, this isn't where you'll learn how to do that.
