Pros

Early career opportunities if you are willing to work hard and get lucky on a decent project.

Cons

Zero succession planning and management of talented staff engineers. Generally results in a lot of early to mid career talent either getting fed up and going contract or leaving the industry all together.

Pros

Steady work with a few small benefits 2/3 rota was a good one, till 3/3. The implementation of the 3/3 was unfeeling, lip service paid to the legal process only.

Cons

Being anonymous and working 3/3. Being adrift offshore with very little useful contact with the decision makers within Wood. No career progression for offshore techs, no learning support worth a damm. A commodity sub contracted to an operating company

Pros

Great Company to work for with good benefits and opportunities, has been steady through the oil down turn. Generally immediate management care for those who work for them.

Cons

It’s become very big and very corporate since the Amec Takeover. People are becoming less important by all appearances, however this is probably part of the merger process.
