Not The Firm It Used To Be

Business Outlook

Pros

Some employees are hardworking and a pleasure to work with

Cons

Management is so focused on making money that they don’t even see employees as people or care about how they are treated. There is a big focus on acquiring additional firms instead of supporting existing staff to drive up the number of employees. As a result, key staff in high ranking positions that have been with the firm for 10+ years are leaving in droves. Management keeps pushing the Great Place To Work survey without actually taking steps to make it a great place to work. Many people are overworked, underpaid, and have had promises made to them that are never acted on (i.e., raises, bonuses, benefits). Job responsibilities are also in frequent flux, with little to no notice to employees or additional compensation for exceeding agreed scope. You could be hired to do one thing and required to do something completely different from what you agreed to.

Pros

Flexible schedule, telework, good team environment.

Cons

Salary could be better, using “freedom to work” to cheat people out of certain benefits such as vacation. Expanding and purchasing other companies and assigning bad management and PMs to disciplines that were successful for years.
