Pros

I love working at Woolpert because of the work and the people. I left the company for a year and a half(after having worked at Woolpert for 14 years), but came back because I missed the excitement and joy of working in GIS and using the latest technologies, working with people and clients I had built relationships with over several years, and the ability to be creative in my work while still being challenged and provide useful solutions for our clients. Since my return I've also been very pleased with the excitement and leadership provided by senior management. It has been a breath of fresh air, and I think it's made us all want to do better and be better employees, and I am excited for the direction Woolpert is headed.

Cons

We can always strive to do better. Every single one of us. I think the senior leadership that is currently in place is aiming to do better and lead by example, and inspiring all of us to do so as well, yet hold us accountable. No company is perfect, and even those that get all of the awards still have their problems and issues, as I've come to realize. And so with Woolpert, I really have no cons. Things are never as bad as they seem, and Woolpert has shown a willingness and ability to adapt, evolve, and persevere. While there are many ways the company can improve, we as employees all play a part in that and make the company what it is, and so we all have the responsibility to contribute and improve the company rather than simply complain. Everyone just needs to put in the time and effort to work with others to make the company better.

Pros

The people there are very nice. They always keep the place clean. There are fun activities that are family oriented!

Cons

Management. There is no organization of structure! It's constantly being changed and upper management can't make up their minds! There also needs to be more rewards! Stop rewarding people who make the company face look good and the people who work hard to meet deadlines.

Pros

Great equipment, nice trucks, and usually always have necessary field supplies. Other offices seem better organized and successful.

Cons

Never has coconsistent work. No one looks for private sector work. Gets busy for brief periods and then slows to a point of having NO work. Office/management staff seems to think it's"balanced" since during brief busy times the field staff gets overtime. Always need to use up vacation and sick time to make ends meet during slow periods. No alternative work or training during periods of inclement weather. Poor scheduling of work- never having overlap of contracts/jobs or a backlog of work. Relies on two clients, who have consistently been giving less and less work. Focuses on limited types of work. Office is top heavy. (Too many "managers")
