Pros

Workday was once a fantastic place to work, known for its strong culture, employee perks, and a genuine focus on people.

Cons

Workday was once a fantastic place to work, known for its strong culture, employee perks, and a genuine focus on people. Unfortunately, that has changed significantly under the new CEO’s leadership. Over the past two years, there have been two rounds of layoffs, creating uncertainty and reducing morale. Perks that used to define the company culture—snacks, clubs, and team lunches—have all been scaled back or eliminated entirely. These may seem minor, but they reflected a broader culture of care that is now clearly missing. The current leadership appears singularly focused on profitability and hitting personal KPIs, with little regard for the people who make the company run. While executives continue to travel freely between offices and enjoy undisturbed benefits, the rest of us are facing continual cost-cutting. There’s also been no meaningful investment in core technology—just a lot of AI buzzwords with little actual impact. It feels more like chasing headlines than building value. Overall, it’s disappointing to see a once-great company lose its way. The shift in priorities is clear, and unfortunately, it’s not in favor of employees or long-term innovation.
