Pros

Culture, benefits, "unlimited" time off

Cons

proprietary technology. While backend is mostly industry standard, it's extremely abstracted. As a developer you will be writing software by pointing and clicking. New grads and mid career engineers, be aware the tech industry is aware of this and no that you likely don't have professional experiance in latest technology. While the company is indeed diverse, literaly only on the surface by race. Ideas, beliefs, and politics are homogeneous. The two recent layoffs in the wake of Covid pandemic and other headwinds were macro economic events. I don't fault Carl Eschenbach or the leadership for making a decision no one wanted to make.

Posts fake job opening on LinkedIn

Pros

Very good HR marketing skills to lure and fool candidates into applying for their open positions. Looks like they are just collecting statistics for research on employment trends for their own org.

Cons

Wastes time of professionals who spend efforts in applying to their open job positions on LinkedIn and get a standard Auto-Generated answer. The same job gets reposted again and again. If they are facing such a crunch in closing a position, why don't they conduct actual interviews than blindly rejecting candidates via an AI screener.

A steady decline in culture

Pros

- Above average salary + benefits - Work life balance

Cons

The company used to have one of the best cultures in the industry. In its core values, Workday mentions, among others: Employees and Integrity. Well, recently the company performed mass layoffs, justified by a pivot in strategy (focusing more on AI). Shortly after opened positions for the same roles that were cut, but in India. This is just the most visible example of a general decline in integrity. Made of heartless decisions, brutal office politics and borderline illegal actions from management.
