Pros

Workday is currently undergoing a significant evolution to address previous inefficiencies. The company has moved away from a culture that occasionally protected low performers, which used to drag down overall team output. There is now a much stronger emphasis on high performance and accountability. Despite the internal changes, this shift aligns with broader tech industry trends post-COVID.

Cons

The transition to a performance-first culture has come at a high cost to the "Workmate" spirit that once made the company unique. The environment has become increasingly competitive, with employees often feeling ranked against one another rather than collaborating. This shift, combined with the general state of the tech industry, has created a heavy atmosphere of job insecurity and persistent layoff fears, which can make it difficult to focus on long-term innovation.
