OK Culture, Poor Leadership

Pros

Full-Time Remote and Flexible Schedule

Cons

The leadership at Workiva is very lackluster. OKRs are established without any long-term vision or strategy leaving teams talking in circles resulting in little progress being made on any major initiatives. Everything from R&D to Marketing is identified as a "priority" leaving individuals constantly fighting for resources and/or stakeholder buy-in. Total compensation and time-off benefits are below industry average resulting in a lot of long-term and high-performing employees to pursue new opportunities. Attrition seems to be at an all-time high. Workiva promotes itself as a "great place to work" despite the poor culture that actually exists. Longtime employees seem to reject the experience and perspective of new hires. It's challenging to feel welcomed if you are joining the company without a background in accounting or finance. Boomerang employees frequently claim "it's not what it used to be."

Pros

Pay is nice. If you ever get a bonus that is. Remote work.

Cons

Micromanagement extraordinaire. Bonus structure magically changes every quarter and targets are never met. Management is full of toxicity (good ol' boys network) The solution itself isn't very good. They push this innovative solution and a happy work/life balance but its a sham. The product sucks and the job of the SA is basically to take crappy data from multiple sources and place it into a "single source of truth" which is clunky, antiquated, and does less than google sheets. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the glitter they throw at you and look at one of the big 4 instead. You'll get paid more, and treated better.
