Promises Made, Promises Broken

Pros

I loved what the company was trying to do and valued the perks and benefits they offer to employees. I do believe they have a ground breaking product and excel with their customers.

Cons

Where to start? I refused to sign my performance evaluation because I had proof my "leader" lied on my review in multiple categories. Their leader told me "just try harder this next year" and sign my review. That alone signaled for me to begin looking for another job. The integrity is missing from the top down. They also preach leadership, but then fail to put true leaders in those positions. In the four years I was there, I only got one salary increase. My last bonus was only stock options, to go along with the 40,000 stock options I already had and never planned on purchasing. Offsite training was encouraged, but when requested, it was always denied. Would not cover the CPE for my professional license.

Cant Win At Workiva

Pros

The work atmosphere is great when you are being bombarded by customers. As long as your senior is cool, it makes working easier.

Cons

Assigned ten additional new accounts in 2015 plus three SOX accounts. I get paid a very low salary for what I do, and thought that Workiva would award my tireless hour put in. I was completely wrong. Not only do they pay small salaries, they give laughable bonuses. During the stressful and long hours, I'd think to myself "working for my bonus." Very discouraging and to be honest, I doubt I'll be here much longer.

Pros

The people that work at Workiva are generally great, with positive mantras and good work ethic. We all are on this sinking ship together so its something you can bond over with your team.

Cons

Slavery. Not nearly enough CSM's or PSM's, so you are worked and worked and worked and pressured and pressured and pressured. ZERO work/life "effectiveness." You want a life/free time? TOO BAD! On top of all that, you get graced with poor compensation for the 50-60-70 hour work weeks. A certain director used to give rousing speeches about how "we give the best customer service around, lets keep it this way and go above and beyond all the time blah blah blah." Well I bought into that garbage for long enough. Im just trying to stay at this job long enough to find something else. I could care less about giving "great customer service." So many people in my department in Ames and all over the country and starting to realize that Workiva is not a great place to work! If you love being taken advantage of, having zero time out of work, and being exploited, come work at Workiva! They'll work you like a mule and tell you its not good enough. Workiva will fail for this reason alone.
