However intellectual your job appears on paper, you will spend a substantial proportion of your work day dealing with logistics, internal turf wars, and management's weather-vane-like approach to the organization's programs, strategy, and vision. Limited career path Top-down management makes the place feel like a fiefdom

Pros

The brand looks good on the CV. Chance of meeting extremely talented, smart, inspiring people. Great office, good food, free coffee.

Cons

Things are not called for what they really are. Very hard to grow in the organization if in a junior position. It is easy to experience cynicism and indifference in spite of talking about leadership and mentorship all the time. Too much change for the sake of change which does not translate into value for the organization. Extremely political: it matters more who you know than what you do.
