Pros

Faith-based org allows employees to engage in discussions not ordinarily held in the workplace.

Cons

I have come to question this organization after being an employee. WVUS has a very woke approach to race and ethnicity. I personally saw documentation that white pastors were to be excluded from certain events. Several senior leadership roles have been filled based on gender and/or ethnicity. I was also surprised to learn that in the past decade, the Board affirmed same-sex marriage, then walked back on that decision. I felt like I couldn't trust leaders who cave and then change their mind due to public perception. As compared to Compassion International, benefits are much lower at WVUS: less retirement match, fewer days off, fewer holidays, lower salary for comparable positions, etc.
