Pros

My team and my immediate supervisor are very supportive.

Cons

Grants are not prioritized in WVUS as they have other funding sources It is a Christian organization, so there's a lot of praying and you will also be asked to pray and lead devotions. They hire only Christians

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you’ve felt supported by your team and supervisor—strong, caring relationships are at the heart of our work. As a faith-based organization, our Christian identity is central to who we are, and our prayer is that through corporate worship, devotions, and prayer, we are drawn closer to God and encouraged to serve God in the fulfillment of our unique organizational calling. Don’t hesitate to reach out to our Faith at Work team for helpful guidance and ideas on leading devotionals. They are here to help in any way. We appreciate your dedication to the important work we do on behalf of the children and communities around the world. Pros

Your work is truly meaningful (regardless of your role or department) and you can take great pride in knowing you are doing God's work on a daily basis and helping the most vulnerable children and families around the globe.

Cons

Coming from a corporate environment, there is a transitional period to learn new ways of working (as is the case with any new job) and the difference of how an NGO operates vs a for-profit organization.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments about our ministry. It’s a blessing to learn that you find your work here meaningful and fulfilling, knowing that what we do individually brings hope and joy to many children and families around the world. Also, it was good to learn about your journey of growth and learning, especially as someone new to the unique work of NGOs. We’re so thankful that you answered God’s call and are using your unique gifts and talents to carry out our bold mission of ending extreme poverty in our lifetime for God’s glory. Thank you, again, for taking a moment to share your heart and advice with us. Ruth Iswariah  Director, People and Culture, Ministry Enablement
