Pros

Good cheap health insurance Most of the workers there are great

Cons

Pay is below industry if you work in services and raises for top performers are below inflation each year They keep telling you it's a great place to work but the real culture is often toxic. Keep repeating GPTW and people will believe it. There are way to many layers of management. The slightest thing goes wrong and you have 5 managers asking the same question. Management all have frat boy personality The high school you attended in STL matters This company loves paperwork. Nobody can mentally prepare you for how many forms you need to fill out daily for the most mundane things

Pros

Good pay and benefits, flexibility in how you get your job done. Some very bright people to work with. Most everyone you run into is nice on a personal level. One of the few companies left who aren't forcing people back in to the office. Diversity and Inclusivity aren't just limited to minority groups - in addition to all the usual 'identity' stuff, they actually support things like prayer groups.

Cons

The company culture allows B players to linger on forever and the Peter Principle is pervasive across middle management, so anyone with a driven personality and a good work ethic is likely to find themselves having to pull more than their fair share of the weight simply to make up for those who aren't. There is no path to advance here. After years of 'working on it' (see above re: B players), an incomplete career growth plan was issued for a limited selection of job types. Opportunities for advancing in to management roles are very rare to appear and often filled via external hires. Time and again existing managers who have failed in their roles are simply shuffled in to new roles at the same level under guise of 'reorg' instead of being moved out to make room for new blood. Make no mistake - you will be in your role or limited to making lateral moves during your stay here, until such time as the pay and benefits no longer distract you from the fact that you are treading water and it's time to move on.
