Good Old Boy System

Pros

-Cheap benefits -Nothing else for pros.

Cons

I agree with all of the comments that this company is a good ole' boy system. If you don't live in St. Louis, brown nose your manager, be a family member of the "elite" then you will be cast aside until they drum up some bogus poor review to get rid of you. Make sure that you say yes sir to everything that they say and agree to all changes, NEVER question their authority on anything! Their "culture" and "core values" are a sham that they feed people but you will only be sent to the fire. Professional Services is a joke and you will only get anywhere if "they" like you. If they don't they will spread false rumors about you, gossip about you and then stab you in the back. Stay away unless you like high-school rumor mills, gossip and grown men acting like school girls. They spend more time covering their own butts and throwing people to the curb.

Pros

- Large scale customers, some very challenging projects - Good benefits.

Cons

Speaking only about the Northwest team I worked with, and this does not even highlight all my issues: - I've realized that that they're out to hire CCIE's left and right just for the prestige of it. - My base salary has stayed the same the period I was there. - No recognition for any of my achievements, including a second CCIE in a category in which I was the only one certified in the whole company. Yet no one sought my expertise, and at some point was even told this was "worthless" even though there's a whole practice around it. - Consistently denied chances to to move up despite being acknowledged that I'm qualified to, - Alot of nepotism going on and people getting laid off in favor of relatives taking their positions. An Associate Project Manager significantly younger than me kept moving around a lot and somehow ended up being my manager. - No work/life balance. I was relocated to Seattle at my own expense, only to end being shipped all over the country most of the year rather than do local work. - Once I told them I was leaving I was treated like a traitor, no one would speak to me. I've never been made to feel so insignificant before.

Thanks. I don't have direct knowledge of your individual situation but would be interested in hearing more about it to see what could have been handled differently. Feel free to contact me directly if you would like. Thanks again and I'm sorry things didn't work out better for you.

Pros

Work life balance are great and benefits are over all ok.

Cons

There was a time I would trust the leaders to guide us through anything but lately they've gone silent and negative changes keep happening. When problems are called out, we are often gas lit into how they're not as bad as it seems or worse are called into meetings and made to explain ourselves thoroughly. I understand wanting to fix issues but when nothing happens, the meetings seem to just be a means of silencing and punishing those who open their mouths.
