Management is terrible

Pros

The ramp agent role is fun if you like the physical challenge of it.

Cons

Management at the Mesa Gateway Airport is on autopilot. You will be lied to in the interview. They say they are hiring part-time and will be vague about your schedule all through training. When you get a set schedule it will be about 38 hours instead of forty, just so it can be called full-time. If you are scheduled to come in at noon but you are working your other full-time job until 2:30 then you will marked as tardy. You will tell them. Yes, they already know your hours for your other job, but you remind them to adjust your schedule anyway. They say they will and never do. Your are marked late again the next day. If you communicate be text or email to any and every level of management you will not get a response. No one is home. Also, aside from the lies and lack of communication, the equipment is old and mostly non-functional. I was once driving a tug with sparks flying behind me, my coworkers told me. The brake was jammed apparently. This kind of thing was commonplace. Management doesn't fix things. If you have more than a few planes coming in at the same time, good luck. You will have to scramble to find equipment that works or juggle what belt loaders, tugs, etc that is available. $17/ hour. No OT because they keep you under 40 hours. I was only looking to work 15-20 hours anyway. They don't work with you. There is no work/ life balance. I worked 40 hours at my full-time gig and they expected me to do 30 something at the airport, 60-70 hour weeks.
