Pros

Flexible Helpful faculty Organized labs People care about you

Cons

The pay is a little low for a stipend for graduate teaching assistantships, but Dayton/Fairborn is quite cheap, so it's not terrible

Pros

Occasional remote, great holidays including Christmas week off, sick leave unlimited accrual

Cons

No raises in 5 years, so now we’re lowest paid support staff in Ohio state schools. My specific job is now done by fewer than a third of staff from a few years ago, but the responsibilities have greatly increased. No opportunity for advancement unless willing to take on completely different job after earning higher and higher education; experience and competence count for nothing.
