Higher leadership/supervisors are severely out of touch! The fight to show and prove their authority creates undue stress and an unhealthy work environment. Further, the caseload we had was nearly impossible to maintain proper, effective, and satisfactory client services. Even when combining JUST those two things (heavy, difficult caseload + crummy leadership) makes the job overall really difficult to continue doing! Because one effects the other, and the caseload quickly gets you to a point of burn out and then the awful leadership makes you fearful to speak up- whether that be a fear of retaliation or a fear they make you feel like it’s your fault or even a fear they are too inept to do anything.
