Pros

The work is technically challenging and can provide you with some great satisfaction in making some pretty cool products, You can choose to work your tail off for this company or you can simply coast through you career there. And you'll be rewarded with exactly the same advancement opportunities and mediocre raises either way!

Cons

Front line management doesn't have the ability to initiate or make necessary changes or enforce current rules. Most managers above that level don't have the time or concern to help. Just make the Danaher-initiated numbers; it's a common theme. But when we made the numbers, the company didn't share (enough) with the employees. I took a greater than 20% raise to go to my new company and perform almost the same tasks as X-Rite was unwilling to pay me for.

Congratulations on your new opportunity. Without knowing the specifics of your situation it's hard to comment, but overall it really is a high performance culture with rewards that correlate with individual and company performance. We know this because we benchmark with the market. In my experience, there are not a lot of people coasting along, it's a hard working committed group of people. One of the nice things about X-Rite Pantone is that we are part of a larger corporation, Danaher, which means we offer benefits and rewards that larger companies offer, yet we still have a smaller company environment to work in.

Pros

it was close to home, for the most part there were talented, skilled workers

Cons

in some cases management did not care about the employees, although they would say they do.

The people are very talented and skilled. We do an annual employee survey and the feedback on managers is generally very good. Management engages in action planning and improvements in any areas that aren't as strong. There is always room for continuous improvement, but overall you will experience very competent management here.

Not a company that I would recommend

Pros

most people are great and pretty smart.

Cons

Unorganized and unqualified people are at the top of the structure. There is no clear vision of where the company is being led to, most things are very secretive, there is a clear lack of transparency within the business at all levels.

This is an older review that I missed seeing, but I'd like to take the opportunity to ask the writer to send me an email or use the Speak Up program if you are still experiencing these issues. I'd like to look into the situation, as what you're describing wouldn't be consistent with or acceptable in our culture, and I'm not aware of anyone acting that way. Thanks - VP HR.
