A great and supportive work environment
Pros
XPO has a great community environment throughout all of it's departments, with consistent support and realistic expectations of what is achievable. Communication is great within the UK, with clear goals and a fantastic induction process. It's clear that employees are valued with a great benefits platform and frequent wellbeing drives and campaigns. There's never not something going on at XPO, making it an exciting and fast moving workplace. As the UK's graphic designer I've worked across a wide range of projects with people at many levels, from site managers, to bid managers, to executives and directors. All of the people I've worked with have been responsive, understanding and a joy to collaborate with to produce exciting and effective design material that has been used globally. When I started at XPO Logistics, I had limited experience animating and producing video content. I have since had the opportunity to grow these skills to produce video content for awards and conferences. Going into 2018 and working collaboratively with communications teams in Europe and America, I am continuing to learn and develop brand strategies, while extending my network of design contacts.
Cons
In a role that involves working across multiple departments, things can be overwhelming in the first few months. It is a global organisation with a lot of fast moving pieces, however, as said, communication is great and XPO will definitely support you in managing your time and getting to know how things work.
