An okay place...

Pros

Working with FPGAs can be really fun as an Engineer. A malleable semiconductor can enable you to explore thousands of applications. The pay is decent although likely on the low side in the valley. A lot of people work very hard, but no one is expected to be available 24/7 like other Bay Area companies.

Cons

Employee ranking system severely discourages teamwork. A few too many middle managers who do nothing but push extra work on their reports to justify their bonuses and their unnecessary employment. Every couple years there is some restructuring that will result in targeted layoffs adding to the pressure to justify your employment. Hard to get time for technical training, so not a great place for more junior engineers.
