Employees are not just numbers on paper. They are humans and will have human emotions. If treated well and respected, they will go out of their way to work for the well being of the company. The recent executive team overhaul changed the basic culture of the company to employees watching over their backs and not daring to speak their minds. Many very talented individuals are let go in increasingly senseless layoffs. This, coupled with the new semi-annual rating system is wearing down company morale never before seen in Xilinx history.
People are now only doing their jobs to not get let go during the economic downturn. The basic sentiment is that one should not be the nail that sticks out, whether this is for good or for bad. This is not the CREATIVE spirit that got Xilinx to the Number 1 spot in the industry over the years.
